Upholstery Tips
When considering re-upholstery, always try to include replacement foams and cushions within your budget. This will greatly enhance a tired piece of furniture, transforming the appearance as well as adding to the comfort.
Before...
Where upholstery is soiled or dirty, always use a specialist cleaner. Although lots of fabrics can be washed at low temperatures (40oc), washing machines do tend to wear piped edges far quicker.
Regularly turn your cushions where possible. This helps to even out sun damage to furniture and evens out the wear and tear.
During...
Try not to leave repairs too late. A simple spring problem, if left, can eventually split the main frame, causing considerable damage and turn a cheap and simple repair into an unnecessarily long and costly one.
Choose your fabrics wisely. What appears to be a cheaper range can turn out to be a false economy for furniture that receives a lot of traffic. Some fabrics are more suitable than others.
